Graphic Novels and Manga

So welcome one and welcome all the to 21st Blog post I have written for Blogtober, lets be honest who thought I would still be here? I certainly didn’t it is getting really hard to come up with some new ideas for blogs and I am just really coming up with a very simple concept right now and trying to pose a blog around it, like todays blog for example.

Recently, I say recently I mean maybe over the course of the last few months, I have really gotten into Manga and graphic Novels, the reasons for this are I went out on a limb and bought myself some Legend of Zelda manga because I love the games and wanted to try new things, it was that which started my love for it. When it comes to graphic novels I bought some Fable Town series, which I guess is sort of similar to the tv series Once Upon A Time, which is why I bought it to be honest, but it is more that they both share the similar idea of fairy tale characters living in our world in their own community and I have to say that I love it. There are 22 volumes and I think I have read 11 of them, either that or I am up to the eleventh one.
Now I have discovered a whole new world, most of it is really rather weird, but I am not going to go into all that here. Below I will simply just make note of all the ones that I have read and give you the goodreads Synopsis of them, sound good?

Firstly lets go through the Manga.

The Legend of Zelda manga is pretty much just the games themselves in manga form and with little bits added in. I haven’t quite finished the Twilight Princess one yet but getting there. I promise.

Citrus –  I am three volumes in on this one and really enjoying it so far. Even if it is a little bland slow at times.
Citrus is an all-new yuri manga series that offers a bittersweet love story coupled with gorgeous artwork. Aihara Yuzu, a high school girl whose main interests are fashion, friends, and having fun, is about to get a reality check. Due to her mom’s remarriage, Yuzu has transferred to a new, all-girls school that is extremely strict. Her real education is about to begin.

From day one, happy-go-lucky Yuzu makes enemies, namely the beautiful yet stern student council president Mei. So what happens when a dejected Yuzu returns home and discovers the shock of her life: that Mei is actually her new step-sister who has come to live with her? Even more surprising, when Mei catches Yuzu off guard and kisses her out of the blue, what does it all mean?

Don’t Be Cruel – If you can get past the forced into relationship part, which I admit it took me some getting through, then its a really enjoyable manga series, although I am just two volumes into this one.
Playboy Maya catches studious Nemugasa cheating on a test, and to ensure his silence Maya blackmails Nemugasa into doing whatever he wants. Twice a week Nemugasa must go to Maya’s room for some steamy action, but as dense and oblivious as Nemugasa is, he fails to notice Maya’s true feelings for him. With college entrance exams around the corner, Nemugasa must focus on his studies, but Maya won’t stop distracting him, causing him to finally snap! Can a relationship built on harassment ever be more?

Pandora Hearts – This is some weird messed up manga I am telling you now. It is literally really weird and like nothing I have ever read before, some of the pictures are just weird and creepy but it is amazing. It is very loosely and I mean very loosely based on Alice in Wonderland.
I could only find the Japenese version of the Synopsis and volume two sort of gives things way so just take my word on this one.

Graphic Novels –
I have read a lot of Marvel Universe ones, but they are pretty much self explanatory the same goes with all the Dotor Who ones I have read  and also a range of Miraculous Tales of Ladybug and Cat Noir (Yes I am a twenty something year old who loves childrens tv shows don’t judge me) but they are all just the episodes in graphic novel form and certainly worth checking both the graphic novels and the tv show.

Heart Stopper – Only read this recently whilst away on Holiday and I loved it so much that I want to read it over and over again. it is just so cute and fluffy.
Charlie Spring is in Year 10 at Truham Grammar School for Boys. The past year hasn’t been too great, but at least he’s not being bullied anymore, and he’s sort of got a boyfriend, even if he’s kind of mean and only wants to meet up in secret.
Nick Nelson is in Year 11 and on the school rugby team. He’s heard a little about Charlie – the kid who was outed last year and bullied for a few months – but he’s never had the opportunity to talk to him. That is, until the start of January, in which Nick and Charlie are placed in the same form group and made to sit together.
They quickly become friends, and soon Charlie is falling hard for Nick, even though he doesn’t think he has a chance. But love works in surprising ways, and sometimes good things are waiting just around the corner…

Fabletown Series – I did mention this a little above but this might give you more of an idea about what it is they are about.
When a savage creature known only as the Adversary conquered the fabled lands of legends and fairy tales, all of the infamous inhabitants of folklore were forced into exile. Disguised among the normal citizens of modern-day New York, these magical characters have created their own peaceful and secret society within an exclusive luxury apartment building called Fabletown. But when Snow White’s party-girl sister, Rose Red, is apparently murdered, it is up to Fabletown’s sheriff, a reformed and pardoned Big Bad Wolf (Bigby Wolf), to determine if the killer is Bluebeard, Rose’s ex-lover and notorious wife killer, or Jack, her current live-in boyfriend and former beanstalk-climber.

Sure I have read other ones but they are just novels I have already read in the form of Graphic Novels.

See you tomorrow… if I can think of something to write about, which at the moment doesn’t seem to be happening.
