Blogtober Plans

So if I did this correctly then it is October 1st and therefore the start of blogtober, although I am not to sure that I am going to get a blog up for each day but we will see. I am determined to try and keep it up. Might try and do some random idea for blogs, using a random items generator and do a blog post on that item, but I think I am going to mainly focus on books.
The plan was to do my October TBR but I am not sure what I am doing with it just yet as I pulled out of one Readathon and decided to take part in another one, so that is all haywire at the minute, so instead I am just going to try and do an October wrap up on 31st and let you know what I have read through the month.
I think mainly this post is or was going to just be a way to tell you all that I do plan on taking part in Blogtober and that the Readathons I am taking part in are HocusPocusReadathon and also going to try and take part in Victober as I would like to try and get back into reading a few classics, tried it a few months back and just never actually got around to it.
So although I have almost got my Readthon TBR planned, as I am writing this ahead of time it is most likely to change.

The final thing that I would like to get out there is that my LinkToThePastReadathon , which I am so excited to be hosting is going to be taking place in the Month of November, but please do check it out before then as there are some advantages to that, as you can pick your team in advance. Although if you are not bothered about your team then I will randomly generate you one. There is a giveaway at the end of of it for two winners, which I have put at the bottom of the blog. Also there is going to be a quick little sign up sheet, which I will link on the information post about the readathon, that you can find on my twitter KateADale, which will also have a link to the blog post and anything that you would like to know just DM me (on twitter) and I will get back to you ASAP.
So do look out for that. to finish off I am going to say good luck with your reading, no matter what Readathons you are taking part in or if you are just reading for pleasure this month and going with what you feel like. get in some of those spooky reads that you have been saving up for all year and I hope you reach your reading goals for the month.=, if of course you set them. I know that some people don’t and just pick up what they feel like and don’t really keep track of how many books they read.
I do have to admit that untill recently, July I think, I never really used to keep track. I just one day decided that I was going to keep a journal of what I was reading, make a monthly TBR and try and stick to it. So far I am doing okay and actually really enjoying myself and getting into the swing of things now.

Sorry this is rather a short post, but the next ones will be longer, hopefully. Please don’t hold me to that.

Book Updates.

I have read one book so far for my Mythothon Challenge that was created by FoxesFairytale and have moved onto my second one. Although I have discovered that I am either going to be cheating slightly or going to have to read this book and assign it to something that I think suits it better. As you see I am currently reading Sympathy by Olivia Sudjic which I thought was a 2018 release and yet when I looked on the inside cover as I opened it to begin reading I discovered that it was actually released in 2017 and it was just my edition of it that was released in 2018. So does that count? Not really sure. I am going to have to find another prompt to assign it to I think. Not sure what yet but my brain will come up with something I am sure.
So I am going to be replacing my 2018 read I think and assigning this book to a new category/prompt. My idea is to assign it to Free Choice and that way I haven’t really lost any bingo’s that I am aiming toward and just need to rethink a few of my other books, which is perfectly doable. I just need to take each book as it comes.
So that is one update out the way.
My second update is:
I have been trying to read more books that are either longer or not the usual books that I read and that started with The Hour Glass Factory, which I have reviewed here and that was the first completed book for the Mythathon Challenge, as mentioned above.

my TBR shelf seems to be getting bigger and bigger and yet I am doing nothing to try and get it down I only keep adding to it over and over again. Something that I am sure will only get worse in the future with Christmas around the corner. It doesn’t exactly help that I am a pretty slow reader and have to sometimes sit in a room on my own and just read for a few hours without stopping to get a book finished, especially when challenging myself in a book challenge. Don’t get me wrong I love reading I just get distracted if there is any kind of noise in the background or anyone talking around me and can’t concentrate, which gets rather annoying sometimes. Especially when I go to the library to get some quiet and it is the staff that are talking at the tops of their voice and shouting across the library.

Anyway my update is over, and it turned out to be a bit of a rant. I am actualyl working on creating my own book tag/book challenge if anyone is interested in that just keep an eye out.

Until Next time

Okay so as I posted a couple of days ago I am taking part in the Mythothon that was created by FoxesFairytale
You can find the original prompts here
I don’t have a full Reading list as of yet but I certainly have a few books from the list that I will be reading which I will list below.

Zeus. King of the Gods. God of the Sky. Read a book at least 400 pages long.
The book I have chosen for this is The Bane Chronicles, been meaning to read this one for a long time.

Achilles and Patroclus. Read a book with an LGBT+ protagonist.
For this I have gone with Pretty Little Liars, as I loved the TV Series

Iris. Goddess of the Rainbow. Read a book with your favourite colour on the cover or in the title.
My Favourite Colour is yellow or purple and I have gone with The Hour Glass Factory for this prompt.

Dionysus. God of Wine. Celebrate this year by reading a 2018 release.
My 2018 release book is going to be Sympathy by Olivia Sudjic. I recieved a copy from reading in heels, which I can tel lyou more about if you like,.

Persephone. Goddess of the Underworld and Springtime. Read a book which is less than 200 pages.
For this one I have gone with a Xmas Classic. A Christmas Carol, which in my copy has under 100 pages.

I am still working on the rest but for a while I am sure that will keep me going. Just have to see where they fall when it comes to completing bingos and just fill in the spaces.
Trying to Decide where to place some of my Tudor Court novels on this list as I have a few of them to read, but what to assign them to I am not sure. Any thoughts?
